Community Campaign

Pacesetters

Pacesetters are selected employers who accept the honor of "setting the pace" by conducting their United Way corporate and employees' campaigns earlier than the traditional mid-September timeframe. They begin their campaigns in mid-summer and serve as a model company for the community. Pacesetters set the pace for employees and corporate giving but also for enthusiasm and leadership in supporting health and human service programs in addition to funding for the targeted impact areas of care: Hunger & Food Security and the Urgent Rx Prescription Program. The Basic Needs Fund is for housing and utilities.

Pacesetters' fundraising efforts are completed before the official kick-off of the overall United Way Community Campaign, which is the Stephen E. Garner Day of Caring Food & Personal Care Items Drive scheduled for Thursday, September 16, 2010 at Stewart Park's large pavilion in Ithaca, NY from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
