About the Asset Coalition of Tompkins County
With funding from New York Makes Work Pay, The Real Economic Impact Tour, and United Way of New York State, United Way of Tompkins County has established a partnership with Challenge, Tompkins Workforce New York, Alternatives Federal Credit Union, Finger Lakes Independence Center, Ithaca Housing Authority, Lifelong, Catholic Charities of Tompkins/Tioga, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Tompkins County, and Tompkins Community Action to form the Tompkins County Asset Coaltion.
This partnership is addressing emerging issues and identifying community partners to engage in key roles for improving financial well-being and security for people with disabilities.
Free tax preparation is available through Alternatives Federal Credit Union and Lifelong. Tax site volunteers have participated in trainings through Finger Lakes Independence Center's Educational Programs and are prepared to better serve individuals with disabilities.
