Fall 2010 Hunger and Food Security Fund Awards Totaled $21,675

The following organizations were awarded:

Catholic Charities of Tompkins/Tioga CountiesProvide Personal Care Products at area food pantries and the Samaritan Center$6,000
Enfield Community Council, Inc.Enfield School Age Program: provide after-school healthy fresh fruit and vegetable snack program$2,700
Loaves and Fishes of Tompkins CountyFree Meal Program: provide congregate meals 5 days a week$4,475
Southside Community CenterHot Food Program: an after-schooldinner program providing a hot meal 5 days a week$3,000
The Mental Health Association in Tompkins CountyStarlight Peer Advocacy (drop-in) Center for Empowerment (SPACE): host an annual Thanksgiving meal serving 150 people$500
Village at Ithaca Ithaca Community Harvest: a collaborative program with area schools and local farms (includes the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program at BJM School, the Meal Program at GIAC, and job training on farms)$5,000
