Cornell University’s Town-Gown (TOGO) Awards and Recognition Ceremony was held on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at the College of Veterinary Medicine’s Law Auditorium. United Way of Tompkins County was recognized for its leadership in the community.
Cornell President David Skorton spoke on "The Importance of Town-Gown Relations" at the free, public and informal event.
The Cornell Student United Way Campaign, earlier this year received the inaugural United Way Worldwide Campus Organization of the Year for service and innovative fundraising accomplishments, in partnership with the United Way of Tompkins County, received the first-ever TOGO award.
The TOGO awards ceremony was developed by Cornell's Office of Community Relations with support from community and campus partners.
