Jordan's Story

A Tompkins County resident named Jordan recently came to the Free Clinic seeking help, he was uninsured and suffering from PTSD. Because Jordan could no longer afford the medications he required, his physical and mental health were deteriorating. Working with Free Clinic staff and volunteers, Jordan was able to receive proper medical care, interviewed with the insurance navigator on duty, and was qualified for Medicaid. With the help of an IFC advocate, Jordan was able to obtain a year's supply of free medication. Thanks to his work with IFC, Jordan has been able to secure sustainable housing and even reconnected with his family.

There is a way to support local healthcare, the United Way.

Because of UWTC funding, people like Jordan can receive the medication they need to lead healthy lives..
