Danby Community Council
o Danby Seniors - $250
Danby Seniors gather once a month for food, friendship, entertainment, and education.
Dryden Community Council
o Southworth Library Large Print Books and CDs - $250
The program provides funds for large print books and CDs to be circulated at the Willowbrook Senior Living Facility.
Greater Ithaca Activities Center
o Adult/ Senior Program - $3,000
The GIAC Adult/Senior Program is for people over the age of 60 who reside in Tompkins County. For a modest registration fee of $40 per year, seniors can enjoy a variety of opportunities to socialize and participate in programs that are socially, culturally, and educationally enriching at low to no cost, and accessible to seniors of various ages, mobility levels, and cultural backgrounds. The registration fee is waived for seniors over age 90.
Groton Community Council
o Groton Art Group - $200
The mission of the Group is to provide art instruction to interested residents regardless of ability to pay. It is the only art group in the area open to all.
Lansing Community Council
o LOAP – Lansing Older Adult Program - $750
It is a non-profit, human service organization that has provided educational and supportive services for older adults in the Lansing community since 1973.
o Lifelong Activities - $4,000
Lifelong offers approximately 40 ongoing activities to help seniors remain engaged and active in life. These include exercise programs, the arts, dance, and general socialization.
o RSVP – Retired Senior Volunteer Program - $3,000
The purpose of the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is to provide significant volunteer opportunities for persons fifty-five (55) years of age and over, so that they participate more fully in the life of their community. The focus of RSVP is on the needs and interests of the volunteers it serves, and on the needs of the community that may be assisted by volunteer involvement at non-profit agencies and organizations.
o Countywide - $3,540
The Countywide Program includes several programs including the Senior Circle, a quarterly newspaper published jointly with the County Office for the Aging and the Northside/Southside program reaches out to African American Seniors. This program helps to coordinate and facilitate twelve senior groups throughout the county and assists with the annual Flu Vaccination Clinics conducted by the Tompkins County Health Department.
McClean Community Council
o Monday Night Mysteries - $100
This is a program occurring on Monday nights with events during the summer to bring community members together to learn the history of the hamlet.
